For many years now, there has been very little left that makes her mother dream. Between her suicidal thoughts, her repeated stays in psychiatric hospitals, and her medication, her immobility stands in stark contrast to this family of adventurers, where everyone else has chosen to travel the world.
And then one day, while clearing out her grandparents’ house, the filmmaker comes across an old spiral notebook: her grandfather’s logbook, kept during a scientific expedition to Antarctica. An extraordinary journey he never spoke about, neither to her mother nor to his other children.
With this rediscovered journal, a desire takes hold of her: to take her mother, at all costs, to this distant and seemingly unreachable place. Little by little, she comes to understand that through this odyssey to the ends of the Earth, she is above all trying to set her mother in motion again.
