Bête à feu comes from the Martinique Creole Bet à fé, meaning firefly.

The fireflies here are two young queer men with opposite personalities from the same island, Martinique.
After a 4-year absence, the first returns to his native island to reconnect with his roots and loved ones, and to come out to his father.
The latter is about to finish his studies and prepare to compete in the first ball of Martinique, the start of a dream that may one day take him to the Parisian drag scene.
Through their quest for identity, these two intertwined lives tell the story of Martinique’s queer youth and the passage to adulthood.
